That’s according to European doctors, who also say the infections are linked to worse lung function later in life.

The doctors tracked more than 150,000 kids, finding cases of bronchitis, pneumonia and other chest infections doubled when a child had a respiratory tract infection.

It also quadrupled the odds of developing asthma later in life.
