Four local ski teams secured state titles in Divisions 1 and 2 on Monday, including three teams repeating as champions and one team ending a 32-year run without a title.

In Division 2, the Cadillac girls ski team won its first state title since 1990, which was also the last time a team won a state title in school history. Onalee Wallis finished in fourth place in the slalom, with Avery Meyer right behind her in fifth. Meyer finished 10th in the giant slalom, with Wallis finishing in 11th.

Petoskey completed the three-peat in boys skiing, as the Northmen had two skiers in the top four on the giant slalom with Nolan Walkerdine in third and Wyatt Mattson in fourth. Walkerdine also added a second place finish on the slalom. Gaylord’s Connor Abraham finished in first place individually in the slalom.

In Division 1, the Traverse City West boys team repeated as the state champs, with Traverse City Central finishing in second place.

The Trojans also repeated as state champs in girls skiing, with the Titans finishing in second place.

Elle Craven and Maddy Cox led the T.C. Central girls team with top five finishes on the giant slalom. Avery Sill also came in eighth place to give them three skiers in the top 10.
