CADILLAC – Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart’s Natalie Jones pitched a shutout game to lift the Irish to a 2-0 win over Onekama in the Div. 4 state quarterfinals on Tuesday night.
Sacred Heart Academy is heading back to the state semifinals for the first time since 2012. The Irish fell to Petersburg- Summerfield 7-3.
The Irish’s only other appearance in the semis was in 1994 when they lost to Ottawa Lake Whiteford.
Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart will meet Ottawa Lake Whiteford for a rematch of the 1994 state semifinals in East Lansing on Friday at 3 p.m.
