BIG RAPIDS – On Friday night, the Ferris State women’s soccer team was recognized for their playoff run. The Bulldogs made it to the NCAA D-II National Semifinals and the memories from this 2022 season will be hard to forget.

“I think sometimes as a coach, you don’t always take a moment to take a step back and you kind of focus in,” said Ferris State women’s soccer head coach Greg Henson. “It was a great experience and opportunity to see our players really enjoy the platform they got to and the stage that they got to for all their hard work.”

“We wanted to come home with a ring and a trophy, but I’m just incredibly proud of my team… and how we came together in this last chunk of the season,” said Ferris State senior forward Isabella Zamborini.

The team thought the odds were against them as seven seniors graduated last season in a year that had been the program’s previous furthest run. But what was supposed to be a rebuild year turned out to be so much more. This season only two soccer players will be graduating, including Zamborini.

“I can’t wait to see everything that they have in store for them next year,” said Zamborini.
