MARION – The Marion Eagles girls basketball team opened up West Michigan D League conference play with a resounding 55-13 triumph over visiting Pentwater on Monday night.
The Eagles jumped out to an early 16-6 lead after one quarter of play, extended it to 39-10 at the half, and never looked back on the way to the win.
Harley Bear led the way for the Eagles with 14 points. Nolah Grundy chipped in with 13, and Jacelynn Moggo added 10.
Marion (2-0, 1-0 WMDL) travels to Walkerville on Wednesday night. Pentwater (1-2, 1-1 WMDL) visits Brethren on Wednesday night.
