The Campus is buzzing in Big Rapids as the Ferris State football team is getting ready to play in the Division Two National Championship.

This is the second straight year the bulldogs are playing for a national championship.

Last weekend, they beat West Florida 38 to 17 to punch their ticket to the final game. They will be taking on the Colorado School of Mines on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Students on campus say they can feel the excitement all around.

“You can definitely feel the energy on campus even after the game on Saturday. It was crazy just to see like how the students like felt, how good that the dogs did,” Ava Shriner, a Ferris State University student, said.

“I got classes with a couple of the football players, so they’re always talking about it, and kind of that’s always their main goal at the start of the season is to head back to McKinney, and they’re able to do that again this season. So just kind of seeing their goals being able to come to life it’s pretty cool,” another student, Garrett Beaulieu, said.
